How Social Software Can Impact Your Organic Search Marketing

Build A Community And Build Search Marketing Capabilities Staying on top of SEO and search engine marketing strategies is a constant challenge for any marketing organization, and the battle for the front pages of search results is ongoing. While one on-site SEO strategy like adjusting titles, meta tags, and adjusting copy to include keywords is a one time or periodic activity, the challenge is the daily ongoing work — and that may be difficult for a single person or a small team to take responsibility for and execute day after day. On a more static business website, this is much the way it works — and marketing alone is responsible for the content, updates, or other activity that can help generate more search traffic to the website.

Social Networking For Business – How Big Is The Audience?

Creating A Social Software Environment That Allows Everyone To Participate When considering a social software plan, one of the questions we’ve observed that businesses have is … “how big is their target online audience?” … and that is high on the list of criteria while determining if it makes sense to invest in a community or social software platform for their business. After all, if they are to focus their time and energies on engaging audiences online, they need to know if that audience is big enough to put in this effort. The answer we believe is ….YES — there is a big enough audience out there for just about any business, and social software is a great way to engage them.

Policy And Implementing It On Social Business Communities

Online Social Business Communities & Mitigating Legal Risks They Can Bring Up A online discussion started by a community manager for his company’s internal social network brought out an issue which is critical to the smooth operation of online communities both internal and external. One of the users on their internal business website network copied and pasted an article off another site possibly without realizing it’s a copyright violation. When you build a community for the business and have a number of different users actively adding to content, linking and posting, there are almost always a risk for copyright infringement in some form or the other.

Social Networking – The Near Future Of Business Software

Collaboration Networks will be to Enterprises what Social Networks are to Consumers It’s always great to read a view point that’s so close to your own thoughts that you can’t say it better — and that’s exactly what happened when I read Padmasree Warrior’s post on the CISCO blog “ 5 Predictions For The Future Of Collaboration “. Her first prediction echoes what we’ve been seeing as more companies turn to social networking software to enable their internal and external collaboration requirements. The prediction is “ Collaboration Networks will be to Enterprises what Social Networks are to Consumers ” Padmasree says in the post: “At Cisco, we believe that the rigidly structured silos that were traditionally put in place in most enterprises will give way to more fluid, ad-hoc communities of experts.

Social Networks Vs Email For Business Communication

Is Social Networking Software Pushing Email To A New Role In Business Communication? This is more a personal observation than a researched study, but it seems that the role of email is changing constantly in the business communications environment as social networking software advances to play a greater role in this space.  It was just a short time ago when email was the backbone of nearly all external communication with customers and those outside the office — and instant messaging, along with email is how we would communicate internally.

How To Get Your Employees To Spend As Much Time On Your Company Website As They Would On Facebook

Unless restricted by a mega strong firewall policy, I would bet that most, if not half of your employees are totally hooked to social networking websites such as Facebook, MySpace or Twitter … and … that they spend a significant amount of their time in the office interacting with others on those exact same websites.  What you’re also likely to see is a large group of “your” managers worried sick about the time “their employees” spend on these sites — and I can bet that they are scrambling to figure out a way to curb this trend. Lets’ face it, Facebook, Twitter, and social networking in general are hot — people are taking about them — and these social networking  websites are lighting a new fire under many businesses every day.  A social network is highly engaging because of the level of interactivity involved

Customization Of Look And Feel For Your Online Community Software

The Good The Bad The Ugly Of Social Networks & Community Sections On Business Websites Have you ever come across a business website where the design, look and feel oozed professionalism and gave you the feeling of being on a credible website — until you logged into the community section, forums or the social network  section of the site and find yourself in unfamiliar surroundings again? This is usually a result of weaving in a free open source platform to extend the website to include a community section or features such as forums. A majority of the free software hosted options for communities are not built with complete customization abilities in mind.
