Customization Of Look And Feel For Your Online Community Software

The Good The Bad The Ugly Of Social Networks & Community Sections On Business Websites Have you ever come across a business website where the design, look and feel oozed professionalism and gave you the feeling of being on a credible website — until you logged into the community section, forums or the social network  section of the site and find yourself in unfamiliar surroundings again? This is usually a result of weaving in a free open source platform to extend the website to include a community section or features such as forums. A majority of the free software hosted options for communities are not built with complete customization abilities in mind.

Using social networking sites to build exposure for ones business and then build communities is a great strategy which can result in some really strong long term benefits. It’s little wonder you’ll find a large percentage of fortune 500 companies along with small to mid-sized businesses actively working on Twitter, creating Facebook fan pages, Linkedin groups, uploading YouTube videos and encouraging employees to blog on blogger and other hosted blogging engines. Cadence – A Great Example Of Using Social Networking For Business Websites

We’ve regularly discussed the use of social networking software platforms integrated into business or corporate websites on our blog and talked about the benefits of building an interactive community on your website as against having a “one-way” website which simply pushes information out to visitors. There are several companies both large and small who have been able to successfully weave a social networking into their business website and use it effectively to draw stakeholders whether they are customers, peers within the same vertical or employees.  The technology company Cadence is a great example of how social networking can be seamlessly integrated into any business website .’ The “community” section is linked as a prominent section of the website on main navigation bar of the website among “Products & Solutions”, “Services” and “About Cadence”. The main page is an industry-wide community for more general discussions around the industry happenings

4 Things To Consider Before Starting An Online Community

I recently had a discussion with a technology professional turned entrepreneur and new mom — and this conversation brought up some interesting points which may prove helpful for anyone considering building a portal.  Her new venture was a result of her passion for her work, her newly found situation with a month old baby, and finding herself wanting to work on a flexible schedule from home. The venture would be a portal targeted at women in a similar position who could benefit from encouraging articles and being able to share their experiences.  During our conversation, several issues and solutions came up that are good points to consider if you plan to build a portal.  And these are points that need a lot of thought but are easily overlooked in the excitement of getting started

How An Online Community Can Add Credibility To Your Business Website

Product Marketing And Social Networking Software

Extending The Product Life-cycle With Social Networking Software Have you read the novel “Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini? It was a very enjoyable book that sold millions of copies and found just as many fans of the author, who was little known before this book. The fascinating thing about a paperback novel, just like so many other products we purchase, is they have a limited life span of usefulness.

Access dropdownlist inside the gridview

Hi Friends, Many times we came cross the requirement when we need to access the dropdownlist’s selectedindexchanged event inside the gridview, like in a shopping cart changing the item’s quantity or binding the other dropdown based on the first dropdown. In such a case we just need to access the controls that has fired the event and this can be done just by using this line GridViewRow gr = (GridViewRow)((DataControlFieldCell)((DropDownList)sender).Parent).Parent; I have written an example too for the same reuirement, and you may check it below.
